Information You Give Us

  • Email signups. When you sign up to receive Chapter One or news about the book, we collect your email address (and your name, if you provide it).
  • Emails you send us. If you email us to request a review copy, an author event, a book club visit or anything else, we receive whatever you include, such as your name, organization, mailing address and phone number.
  • Forms. If you use a contact form on the site, we receive the information you enter.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to see which pages are visited and how people find the site. Google may use cookies and collect your IP address, device and browser information.
  • Meta Pixel. We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the results of our ads and to show ads about the book to people who have visited the site. Meta may use cookies and similar technologies for this purpose.
  • Security and hosting. Our hosting provider (GoDaddy) and security service (Sucuri) keep server logs that may include IP addresses, browser types and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and running.
  • Cookies. These tools, and WordPress itself, may place cookies on your device. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as expected if you do.

Embedded Content

Some pages include content from other websites, such as YouTube videos, signup forms provided by Kit and an audio player. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website, and that site may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with it.
